Why I Believe Every Business Owner Should Make Fitness a Priority

If you're out of shape, tired all the time, and dragging your feet into work… don’t talk to me about being disciplined.

I’ve been in business since the 90s. I started with nothing, selling pagers and Motorola phones out of a van. I’ve built retail stores from the ground up. I’ve led teams. I’ve woken up at 4:30 AM every day for the past two decades to train, journal, and get ahead before the world even opens its eyes.

Why? Because discipline isn’t something you switch on when it’s convenient. It’s who you are. And I don’t care what industry you’re in wireless, roofing, real estate. If your mind and body are weak, you’re leaving money, leadership, and legacy on the table.

Your health is your first business.

I’ve watched business owners chase every new tool, every shortcut, every hustle… but their energy sucks. They burn out. They start making excuses. And eventually, they stop leading.

Meanwhile, the ones who train like it’s part of their job, those are the ones who win. Not because of muscles or how they look. But because of the mental sharpness, the consistency, and the long-term thinking that comes with taking care of yourself.

And let’s be real: this isn’t about a job.

I don’t care how busy you are, start today.

You don’t need a fancy gym. I started with push-ups, jogging, and discipline. Now I’m in the gym before sunrise because I owe it to my family, my business, and the people who count on me to show up at my best.

Stop telling yourself you’ll “get to it.” You’re the business. If you break down, the whole thing slows down.

So let me be blunt:

Want to lead better? Sell more? Grow faster? Get fit.

Not for the six-pack. Not for social media.

For clarity. Energy. Focus. Discipline.

I’ve built stores, launched brands, and coached teams but nothing has impacted my leadership more than taking care of my health.

Make time. Get strong. Lead with discipline. It’s the most profitable thing you’ll ever do.
